Marc Jacobs
Motion Capture

-
We quickly acted and shot 9 takes of motion capture in our studio with our XSENS 'Link' suit.
-
Nailing down the specific moves was important! We knew we could re-time and clean up the animation later
-
-
I supervised the actor (a colleague in this case) and ran the software for multiple different takes
Rigging &
Anim Cleanup

-
I rigged all of the props and Marc Jacobs' character
-
The rigs for the props had to work seamlessly with eachother, switching spaces per different parts of the body as they were twirled around
-
-
Most of the Clothes were simulated in Marvelous designer
-
Animation was cleaned up and re-timed
Final

-
Our final render with some compositing and a character-creator UI to really tie the videogame aesthetic together!
-
The character, all of the props, and some of the clothes were imported into Unreal Engine as skeletal meshes, and the rest of the clothes as alembics
-
This workflow of a solid rig-basis in Maya ensured that everything regarding the character and animation lined up correctly once it all came together in Unreal Engine!
ROLE
Character & Prop Rigging, Motion Capture Supervising
DESCRIPTION
A fast project for Marc Jacobs' social media! I was in charge of running & supervising a XSENS motion capture system, rigging 6 bag props, flat and high heel shoes, and various clothing items. Then I also brought everything into Unreal Engine 5 and organized it all to work together seamlessly.
